Week one: Onverse

This week we take a step into the world of Onverse. Onverse is an online community that has appeal to younger audences. With cartoon graphics and lots to do, such as: shopping, buying a house, decorating, making friends, going to nightclubs, gathering Player Points, and participating in the in-game events.

After a five minute download I was logging into the world of Onverse. You start out with 500 player points, which is one of the two in-game currencies. You earn player points by catching butterflies, mining ore and smashing jewels. With Player Points you can buy a wide range of products ranging from costumes clothing and furnature for your home.

Upon your first log on i recommend you port over to the learning center so you can learn the controls. The learning center has come a long ways. It shows you how to move, communicate, gather PP (player points) and much more. If you are still lost there are in-game guides that can give you a tour of the world of Onverse or answer any questions you may have.

All new players have the option to get a free apartment. It is yours to keep forever! The most fun part about getting a free apartment is you get to pick it out yourself. If you don't like the view you can check out other apartments that suit your tastes. You have a choice of choosing a free apartment in three different regions.

Regions:

The Hub: The Hub is the main shopping district in the game. There is lots to do here with over ten unique shops to explore. There is a night club called The Shark Tank, you can meet and dance with friendly members of the Onverse community. Looking to make some PP? Well just stop on by the beach, grab a free sparkler and set off some fireworks. You will be rewarded with PP.You can find free apartments here and even Penthouses that are bought with CC. (Cash Coins another currency that is premium) Stop by the casino and check out the current events that are going on. There is always something fun to do in the hub. Most of the time this is where I am hanging out, due to my addiction to shopping and decorating.

Volcano Island: Volcano Island is tropical themed and quite possibly the best place to go gather PP. There are free apartments here as well. Two tuscan themed shops for all your island themed decorating needs. You can also buy a home here. Expect pirate ships and palm trees. If you are the type who loves to relax near the beach this is the place for you.

Ancient Moon: A trip to the moon, this is a space themed region. Check out the free apartments here, the view is amazing. This is also a hot spot for gathering PP. Spend some time here to check out the prehistoric dinosaurs, the mushrooms, and also the secret nightclub. There are four shops to check out if your looking for some space themed clothing or furniture. If your looking for a bit of excitement and adventure check out the maze in Temple of Su'ul. See if you can make it to the end. Ancient Moon is my favorite region to explore.

Enchanted Forest: Take a step into the forest, serene beauty and luscious green trees. There is only one shop here, yet there is plenty to explore. Gather PP and check out all there is to offer in this region. I have yet to figure out if there is a secret nightclub here.

Inside these zones you can also buy estates and mansions if your looking for a luxurious home for your avatar. If your not satisfied with the current housing why don't you be creative and build your own custom home on a plot?

Onverse also offers premium VIP membership for about $10 a month. When you purchase a membership you get access to new features that are still being tested. You also get a monthly supply of Cash Coins. If you really enjoy this game, VIP membership makes it even better. The fun never stops.

On Onverse anything can happen, let your imagination run wild. While it may be geared to a younger audience, I still find pleasure in this game. The community is very warm and welcoming. Onverse encourages education, and they even have occasional writing contests to get their community thinking.

After a week of playing this game I must say I am addicted. There is so much to do here, and so many friendly people to meet, house parties and more. In conclusion I rate this game 4/5. I didn't rate it a 5/5 because the loading screens can take a while. If your into social games and you have not tried Onverse yet I highly recommend it.
